The World Richest Race Meeting

The Group I Dubai World Cup, sponsored by
Emirates Airline, is run at Nad Al Sheba race
course in Dubai and is worth US$6,000,000
making it the richest race in the world. It
is the highlight of a meeting worth US$15,250,000,
which is the world's richest race meeting.
There
are seven races on the programme, six for
thoroughbreds and one for Purebred Arabians.
Of the six thoroughbred events, four are run
at Group I level, the highest standard in
international racing.
These
are the Dubai World Cup, the US$2,000,000
Dubai Duty Free, the US$2,000,000 Dubai Sheema
Classic and the US$2,000,000 Dubai Golden
Shaheen. The other two thoroughbred races
are the US$2,000,000 UAE Derby and the US$1,000,000
Godolphin Mile and they are run at Group II
level, one step below Group I level.
The
Purebred Arabian race is the Dubai Kahayla
Classic and is run under Group I status and
at US$250,000 it is the richest race for Purebred
Arabians in the world.
Special
arrangements have been made this year too
to enhance the experience of this event. As
the epicenter of the social scene, the International
Village is improved every year to accommodate
everyone's needs. Access to the International
Village is by entrance tickets priced at Dhs
150. The village incorporates a multitude
of food and beverage outlets offering a variety
of refreshment options, Exhibition Stand,
Live Entertainment and giant screen race coverage.
The
Picnic Garden, a private enclosure located
close to the track rails on the 9th fairway,
allows guests to enjoy the delights of their
pre ordered hampers prepared by Jumeirah Hospitality.
A selection of menus is available for a minimum
of 2 guests starting from Dhs 400/- per hamper,
which are all presented within a souvenir
hamper.
The
Millennium Terrace encompassing the entire
level 2 is for reserved grandstand seating
and will provide the convenience of a dining
area on the open concourse overlooking the
track along with licensed beverage outlets
